This special mentoring retreat is aimed at supporting shamanic practitioners who actively work with clients.
Working together with the Spirits to help others can be inspiring and rewarding, and it can also be challenging and demanding. Shamanic healing is a path of constant learning. Techniques are necessary, but a genuine and effective shamanic healing practice is about developing and maintaining a powerful relationship with the Spirits, trusting them deeply and working in partnership.
A healing session can also be influenced by our presence as human beings – how we meet and welcome the client, how we hold healing space, how we listen, and how aware we are of our own relationship to power. In this work, we have to continually deepen our understanding of what the Spirits tell us. We have to be humble, open, and dedicated. We have to be ready to let go of our expectations and our egos.
This retreat will explore ways of nourishing ourselves so our work can be stable and sustainable in the long term. We will share examples of good practice and reflect on difficulties to see what they teach us. We will reconnect with our commitment and deepen our connection.
This is not a standard course but a retreat with a slightly different format. We will work together in circle during mornings and evenings, using talking stick, drum journeys, nature work, song and ceremony. Afternoons will be spent working either in small groups or individually so participants can reflect or do personal work as guided by the Spirits.
We will work together as a group, sharing experiences, challenges and questions. Mentoring and supervision will be offered by Jonathan and Zara to help you see your work more clearly - as part of a bigger picture, through the Spirits’ eyes, and as an invitation to go further on your healing path.
** Please note that this is not a training course in how to work with shamanic clients. This is a mentoring retreat for experienced practitioners who already work with clients in a shamanic way.
Prerequisites: to attend this retreat, you need to have an active shamanic client practice. You should be working with others regularly, offering either healing work and/or shamanic counselling. You need to have previous training in shamanic healing, soul retrieval and shamanic counselling, ideally with us. If you are not sure if you fulfill the prerequisites, you are welcome to email us and ask.
Application: Please send a list of your shamanic training to email@example.com You will then receive more information on how to book. A few months before the retreat, all participants will be asked to write a preparation letter in response to a set of questions, describing your shamanic client practice and what you want help and guidance with. These letters will inform our time together, as we open to the Spirits and listen to their teachings.
